Inflammation Using Systemic Enzymes for Endometriosis and
PolyCystic Ovary Syndrome

Usually when hearing the word inflammation, people, like me, get nervous. It sounds BAD. Well there is a lot about inflammation that you don’t know and should. Inflammation is a sign that your body is working properly.  Inflammation is a natural response to something foreign in your body, whether it be an injury or infection, the body is trying to get rid of the problem. When, for example, the body is running a fever. A fever just relieves and burns off the foreign matter causing the infection.

When the body has too much inflammation is where the problem begins. Chronic inflammation is the underlying cause of many fertility issues whether it is poly cystic ovary syndrome, endometriosis, pelvic inflammatory disease, habitual miscarriage, prostrate infections in males or even an autoimmune disorder. The side effects are often infertility and miscarriage. In an autoimmune disorder’s case, the body produces antibodies which attack healthy tissue, causing inflammation.

Once the inflammation is out of control your body cannot function properly.

There are many things you can do to reduce inflammation in the body, one of them being the use of systemic enzymes.

What are systemic enzymes? Systemic or proteolytic enzymes are enzymes that are designed to work for the entire body. Enzymes, in general, help the body function better. Often enzymes are in our bodies working all the time. Being deficient in an enzyme can cause problems.

Systemic enzymes break down fibrin, reduce inflammation, reduce scar tissue, reduce inflammation response (autoimmune disorders) and reduce viruses in the body. They are designed differently from digestive enzymes as they are meant to break down in the small intestine, instead of the stomach, so they reach your blood stream to reduce inflammation.

Nattokinase is an enzyme (a protein that speeds up biochemical reactions) that is extracted from a popular Japanese food called natto. Natto is boiled soybeans that have been fermented with a bacterium called Bacillus natto.

Natto has been used as a folk remedy for diseases of the heart and circulatory system (cardiovascular disease) for hundreds of years. Nattokinase, the chemical in natto that is probably responsible for its effects, was discovered by a University of Chicago researcher, Dr. Hiroyuki Sumi.

You won’t find nattokinase in soy foods other than natto, since nattokinase is produced through the specific fermentation process used to make natto.

Nattokinase is used for cardiovascular diseases including heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke, chest pain (angina), deep vein thrombosis (DVT), “hardening of the arteries” (atherosclerosis), hemorrhoids, varicose veins, poor circulation, and peripheral artery disease (PAD).

It is also used for pain, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, endometriosis, uterine fibroids, muscle spasms, infertility, cancer, and a vitamin-deficiency disease called beriberi.

How does it work?
Nattokinase decreases the ability of blood to clot. This "thins the blood" and might protect against conditions caused by blood clots such as stroke, heart attack, and others.

TREATS

High blood pressure. Research suggests that taking nattokinase (NSK II, Japan Bio Sciences Laboratories Company Ltd., Japan) daily for 8 weeks can reduce blood pressure in people with high blood pressure.

Deep vein thrombosis (DVT). There is some evidence that taking a specific combination product (Flite Tabs) might decrease the chance of getting a blood clot in the legs during long plane flights. This product combines a blend of 150 mg of nattokinase plus pycnogenol. Two capsules are taken 2 hours before the flight and then again 6 hours later.
